Welcome!
I’m a California based product, strategy, and business operations leader with experience in the technology and health care industries. My expertise focuses on the conception, execution, and implementation of strategies to launch new products, enter emerging markets, scale global operations, and address the most complex issues organizations face today.
At Groq, I am the Chief of Staff, where I lead the Office of the CEO, driving strategic initiatives and special projects across North America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. Groq is an artificial intelligence chip startup based in Mountain View, California that develops groundbreaking hardware and software products optimized for inference, which is the process of running generative AI models. While training AI models is crucial, inference is even more critical and demanding, as it is required every time an AI model is used. Groq’s AI chip, known as the Language Processing Unit (LPU), outperforms other inference chips by 10 times the speed, while consuming 1/10th the power and costing 1/10th the price. As AI adoption grows exponentially, the cost and resources required for inference are rapidly outpacing those of training. With inference becoming the world’s most critical, valuable, and scarce resource for running AI models, Groq is on a mission to provide the majority of the world’s AI compute infrastructure.
Prior to Groq, I served as Chief of Staff at OpenAI, leading scaled growth, strategic planning, program management, and operational excellence for the Trust & Safety (T&S) organization. T&S ensured the safe development and responsible use of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI). OpenAI aims to ensure AGI benefits all of humanity through groundbreaking technologies like ChatGPT, DALL-E, and Whisper.
Before OpenAI, I held senior product and strategy leadership roles at three innovative companies: Chime, Google, and Airbnb. At Chime, the fastest-growing challenger bank in the US, I was a Product Manager owning the strategy and roadmap for Personalization and Member Experience. Prior to that, I worked at Google as a Strategy and Operations Lead, driving initiatives for the $100B+ Ads business and influencing executive stakeholders. At Airbnb, I was a Global Program Manager, executing critical strategic and operational projects to advance the company’s mission of belonging.
Prior to transitioning to the tech industry, I was a management consultant at Deloitte, specializing in life sciences and healthcare. My work focused on protecting vulnerable patient populations, optimizing operations to improve outcomes, increasing accessibility and affordability of care, and maintaining the integrity of the US healthcare system. I executed strategic initiatives and large-scale process implementations for Fortune 500 hospitals, health systems, and organizations nationwide.
I graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles (Go Bruins!) with a bachelor’s degree in Biological Anthropology and the University of Southern California (Fight On!) with a Master of Health Administration (MHA) from the Sol Price School of Public Policy. I am currently pursuing a Master of Science in Systems Engineering from the Whiting School of Engineering at The Johns Hopkins University.
Outside of work, I have 15+ years of experience as a career coach and academic mentor where I’ve helped over 500+ students and young professionals around the world secure dream offers from elite universities such as Harvard, Yale, Princeton, MIT, INSEAD, and UCLA and top companies such as Google, Facebook, Airbnb, McKinsey, Bain, and the Boston Consulting Group. I’ve provided career advice, university admissions consulting, job hunting strategies, resume/CV/cover letter reviews, interview preparation (behavioral and case study), and other guidance to better equip the next generation of young professionals for success. I’m a public speaker frequently invited by companies, universities, and affinity groups to present on topics such as: leadership, career growth strategies, workplace dynamics, work-life balance, and interpersonal skills.
I’m an avid traveler who has explored over 40+ countries in 6 continents. I’m also heavily involved in multiple charitable organizations whether through the commitment of time or the contribution of resources to extend the opportunities I’ve received in life to others in need.
